State Could Face New Budget Cuts

The House Appropriations Committee learned yesterday that the Commonwealth could face a budget shortfall of almost $1.5 billion in the next two-year budget cycle that would require more state spending cuts due to the fact that revenue growth won't be strong enough to meet expected cost increases in Medicaid, public education and pension obligations.  Delegate Ware says that additional state cuts will put greater pressure on local governments.
